TGS Baltic, working alongside Clifford Chance Belgium office, assisted Belgian investment group Straco with the acquisition of the horticulture company AS Greenyard Horticulture Latvia as a part of acquisition of the horticulture segment from Greenyard in Belgium, France, Poland, Ukraine, and Latvia.

The horticulture segment, exporting to more than 60 countries with 14 facilities in Europe and Russia, offers a wide range of high-quality potting soils, decorative mulches, ground covers, winter products and soil improvers for plants, mushrooms, and fruit and vegetables to both professional growers and hobby gardeners.

Straco is an independent Belgian investment group active in real estate project development, real estate investments, and private equity. Straco currently operates in the Benelux, UK, France, Germany and Poland, but are always looking for global opportunities in various industries. TGS Baltic assisted in the due diligence, amending of the draft share purchase agreement and closing and post-closing of the transaction with respect to issues related to AS Greenyard Horticulture Latvia.

The transaction was signed on 24 September 2018 and completed on 18 December 2018. The total value of the transaction was EUR 120 million.
