The Government of Lithuania considered transferring operations of the Lithuanian airports to a private investor under a concession agreement. Meanwhile, a certain airport infrastructure in the Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports needed to be reconstructed (runway, passenger terminals, baggage claims, etc.) before the concession. For the latter purpose, VĮ Lietuvos oro uostai, represented by TGS Baltic lawyers, negotiated with the EIB and NIB on investment financing. TGS Baltic lawyers had to propose a negotiation strategy to VĮ Lietuvos oro uostai which would allow to find a compromise on broad carve-outs in the financing contract and at the same time leave sufficient comfort to the lender.
TGS Baltic Associate Partners Eglė Lauraitytė and Ieva Dosinaitė were legal advisors to VĮ Lietuvos oro uostai in this process on all related legal issues.
VĮ Lietuvos oro uostai (Lithuanian Airports) is a state enterprise, which unites and manages Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports, develops the activities of the three airports in a coordinated manner, offers a wide range of services as well as high standards of the quality of service rendered to passengers and partners.
